Private Agricultural Pesticide Applicator Trainings Scheduled for February

Two Private Pesticide Applicator (PAT) Training sessions for new and recertifying individuals have been scheduled for St. Croix County in 2020.  You also have the option to take the exam self-study by making an appointment with your nearest Extension office.

Sessions are scheduled to begin at 9:30 a.m. and conclude around 3:30 p.m.  St. Croix County trainings are scheduled for:

  • February 7 and February 13
    • Croix County Ag Service and Education Center, 1960 8th Avenue, Baldwin

Phone: 715-531-1950

Private Pesticide Applicator Training is designed for those individuals engaged in agriculture and planning to purchase restricted use pesticides.  An open book exam is administered, and to be certified, participants need 50% correct when attending a training session and 70% for self-study.  You must attend the whole session to qualify for 50% grading.  Cell phones must be turned off during testing.

Wisconsin requires that any person taking a certification exam must provide positive identification (a driver’s license is most common) and their social security number. Exams lacking social security numbers cannot be graded.

For more information about Private PAT go to or contact the state office at 608-262-7588.

Individuals are asked to pre-register and pick up materials after January 1st.  Cost is $40 per person.
