2020 St. Croix County 4-H Scholarships
The St. Croix County 4-H Leaders Association will award more than $4,500.00 in scholarships to outstanding St. Croix County 4-H youth pursuing higher education in 2020. Scholarships are awarded to 4-Her’s based on demonstrated personal growth, development and leadership, academic performance, community engagement, and future educational goals. To be eligible, youth must have been a member of the St. Croix County 4-H program for at least the past 3 years, be a member in good standing, have a grade point average of at least 2.5 on a 4.0 scale, and be enrolled or planning to enroll at a university, college, or technical school during the 2020 – 2021 academic school year. 2020 4-H Key Awards
The Wisconsin 4-H Key Award Program recognizes a select group of 4-H participants who have demonstrated consistent growth in their 4-H involvement, developed and applied their leadership skills and actively participated in the functions of their 4-H club and community.
To be eligible, candidates for this award must be at least in 9th grade or older, and must have completed at least three years of 4-H and one year of youth leadership.
Selection is based on an evaluation of the candidate’s total 4-H record (membership, projects, activities, leadership, personal development and county 4-H and community involvement.).

Betty Jean Utecht Forgivable Loan
The Betty Jean Utecht Forgivable Loan program is available to St. Croix County 4-H Youth. The loan provides youth with $250.00 for study in the nursing field. The loan is renewable with a yearly application. To be eligible to receive the Betty Jean Utecht Forgivable Loan you must:
- Be a St. Croix County 4-Her or Alumni
- Have a current GPA minimum of 2.5
- Enter a field of nursing study
- Complete the proper application process
- Complete 2 – 4 years of nursing study or training. After graduation the recipient is required to submit a copy of the graduation certificate to the UW-Extension Office, upon which the loan will be forgiven.
A member may apply for both the Betty Jean Utecht Forgivable Loan and a St. Croix County 4-H Leaders Association Scholarship. Applications are due no later than April 15. For more information go to https://stcroix.extension.wisc.edu/4-h-scholarships/
