New websites

UW-Madison Division of Extension has initiated a website redesign. Farm Management and Livestock are two of the first programs to transition to the new topic hub format. New website addresses are:

Heart of the Farm – Women in Agriculture ‘Coffee Chats’ Fall/Winter 2020/21

University of Wisconsin-Madison Division of Extension’s Heart of the Farm-Women in Agriculture program will start up it’s online ‘Coffee Chats’ again on Monday November 9th, 2020 at 10:00a.m. and will continue hosting on the 2nd Monday of each month through March 2021 from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Visit https://fyi.extension.wisc.edu/heartofthefarm/conferences/coffee-chats/ for more details and registration.

 

Our first speaker will be Jerry Apps, author and rural historian discussing Women in Agriculture – A Brief History. Jerry will take us back to the pioneer days in Wisconsin and talk about the role of women in agriculture in his presentation: “Women in agriculture: a brief history.” He will share the early role women had in the dairy industry and how that changed over the years along with some personal stories of women’s roles in agriculture during the Depression Years of the 1930s and WWII, drawing on his mother’s roles at that time.

 

2020 WI Pest Management Update Virtual Meetings

The format will be different this year because of COVID-19. Presentations will include pest management information for Wisconsin field and forage crops. FREE EVENT! 2 CEU Credits in pest management have been approved for each session! Speakers will include Mark Renz, Nick Arneson, and Rodrigo Werle, Weed Scientists, Damon Smith, Plant Pathologist, and Bryan Jensen, Entomologist.

 

The virtual meetings will be offered multiple times the week of November 9, 2020 and will run for 2 hours (please choose the option that best fits your schedule).

Schedule: Tuesday, November 10, 9:00-11:00 AM; Wednesday, November 11, 11:00 AM-1:00 PM; Thursday, November 12, 1:00-3:00 PM

 

Dairy Market & Nutrition Update
